Cara's Coffee Shoppe is the kind of place you wish was on every corner. The coffee is excellent smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with care and the pastries and breakfast bites are just as thoughtful. Nothing feels mass-produced; everything has that homemade, quality feel. The service is warm and genuine. Even during the morning rush, the team keeps things moving with a smile. It's the kind of place where they remember your order after a few visits, which always makes it feel a little extra special. The shop itself has a cozy, welcoming vibe with little details that give it personality. Whether you're posted up with a laptop or catching up with a friend, it's an easy space to settle into. Tip for new customers: Try one of the seasonal drinks they're always creative without being overly sweet. And if you see the breakfast sandwich on the board, don't think twice it's a crowd favorite for a reason.

My husband and my sister in law stumbled upon this place in Santa Monica and we were so impressed with their coffee and their pastries! The employees were really nice too and very accommodating! I can't wait to come back and try their breakfast burritos! The place is so cute! Its very lowkey and they have dining options as well :)

Sneaky good breakfast spot... wait... not good. Great. Huevos rancheros (add chorizo) is your go-to. Quiet. Sleepy. Good service. A winner in so many ways

First of all the name does not necessarily reflect all the cuisine that is available. There are a number of gourmet Spanish and Mexican food choices here. We ordered the Spanish tortilla and the fish tacos. They were both delicious! The seating is comfortable and the place charming. The service was friendly and fairly prompt. My only complaint was the portions were a bit small for the price point, as the fish were small pieces covered in a lot of shredded lettuce so it looked like more than it really was..other than that critique we had a good experience.

The shop was pretty much empty as we strolled in at 1pm. The vibe was perfect, chill interior with nice art decorating the outside sheltered area I got a Greek egg with spinach and yoghurt. I didn't expect much but this was SO GOOD. Eggs were perfect over easy, and the yoghurt added a nice tang to the mouthful. Bread was sublime, soft inside but nice and toasted outside, butter spread well and the remaining oil, yoghurt and egg from the main dish provided the perfect dip Service was friendly, though I think this is quite pricey for what it is, keeping it from a 5 star from me. Definitely worth popping by

Update: Originally my review was 5 stars but I soon realized afterwards that my decaf coffee was not decaf. I am very sensitive to caffeine. I asked if they had decaf and they said yes but it doesn't seem that way. Based on other reviews it's not the first time this mistake has been made. If you're like me definitely double check before drinking! Original review: I've been wanting to check out this beachside coffee shop for quite a while since I always pass by on bike rides. The staff greeted me and were super friendly. I came 30 min before closing but they were still cooking up meals and since I had my bike with me I opted for a croissant and coffee to-go. The croissant was warmed up for me and very buttery and flaky!! The coffee was the perfect amount of sweetness - I ordered a decaf vanilla latte. Their patio is super nice if you want to dine in. It is covered and has a cute design. Prices are higher than expected but probably because of the high rent for the area!! I have nothing bad to say! It was a great experience and I'd love to come back to have a hot meal!!

Ricardo was an amazing waiter! He gave great recommendations and service. They have lattes, coffees, and any type of breakfast food you could want. I got the bruschetta poached egg with prosciutto and it was Devine.

This place was all outside seating and it was cold today. The fresh squeeze orange juice and fresh made berries jam were very good and went well with my breakfast. They were starting to get busy so we got there early enough to get out the way as people started coming in droves. The gentleman serving was super nice and eloquently described all the dishes we asked about.
